Approx. 4 inches in length. I would say they are light to medium weight. If you want to wear big earrings, but don't want to stretch your lobes or if your ears hurt if earrings are too heavy and are worn for too long, snip off the end of a bandaid, the shape of a small round or whatever you want if you don't want it to be seen from the front. Put it behind your earhole and work the post or the ear wire through the band aid. It will help spread out the effects of gravity
